Dear Lorraine,
In this month's issue, we'll talk about graceful exits,
playing nicely, and getting real with "sociograms". If you
don't know what a sociogram is, then you'll definitely want to
read my "Get Real Tips" article below.
I'll also introduce you to my cool friend, Rashida Lilani, who
is an expert in helping people create and manage their
wealth. And don't forget to cruise through the new side bar
"quick links" sections I've created just for Career Changers
and Career Makers.
Thanks for your feedback and for taking the time to focus and
tune in for your monthly reality check. Now - - - Bloom on!

Do
you know how your organization really works?
Imagine for a moment that you're a vice president running a

now what?

Playing Nicely in a
Multi-Generational Environment!
Most companies still do business today around the
 Boomer
model in which presence equals performance. But, we're at a
crossroads now. The Gen X and Gen Y pairing will
significantly change the workplace. This change will require
all of us to rethink the way we work, where we work, and when
we work. For now, the topic closer at hand is rethinking how
we all collaborate together.
Generational Snapshot
Traditionalists or Veterans
Ages 62-77
Believed they'd work for the same company their entire career.
Baby Boomers
Ages 43-61
"Live to work" and believe in putting in face time at the
office.
Gen Xers
Ages 31-42
"Work to live" and believe that work should not define their
lives.
Gen Y's or Millennials
Ages 13-30
Their motto: "Work my way."
Devoted to their own careers, not to their companies.
